— Romantic! — For its 50th edition, Les Nuits du Château de la Moutte invites you to experience
extraordinary musical emotions inspired by its history and its unique spirit — the Romanticism of the era of Émile Ollivier, its “founder,” the last head of government under Napoleon III, son-in-law of Liszt and brother-in-law of Wagner… no less than that! The festival’s roots reach deep into history, interwoven with the ideal vision of Saint-Tropez once discovered by its very first artists. In 1975, Anne Troisier, Émile Ollivier’s granddaughter, hosted the first concerts. Later, Jean-Philippe Audoli and his team would lead the festival to international acclaim.
This year, we invite you to dream and feel deeply with today’s most brilliant performers, through the timeless beauty of the great classical repertoire. But Les Nuits du Château de la Moutte is not only about the excellence of internationally acclaimed musicians and promising new talents: it is also about the singular, gentle, and peaceful experience of a truly exceptional place, steeped in history and surrounded by nature.

“Music is in everything — a hymn rises from the world,” wrote Victor Hugo.

Beneath the century-old trees of the palm grove, in the intimate courtyard of the château with its marvelous acoustics, or on the stunning Canebiers beach at sunset, our concerts celebrate the beauty of music in harmony with nature and the Mediterranean.
This 50th edition is the perfect moment to strengthen our bond with the public and our partners, and to guide the festival towards new and exceptional paths — ever more in service of music. To enchant us once more, Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Brad Mehldau and many others will resound beneath the starry sky, in the romantic and elegant setting of La Moutte and the protected natural spaces of the Saint-Tropez peninsula: this is the beauty we wish to share with you!
