Jakub Józef Orlinski Counter-tenor
One of the most beloved and celebrated opera stars of this decade, Jakub Józef Orliński has established himself as one of the world’s leading artists, triumphing on stage, in concert, and in recording. His sold-out concerts and recitals throughout Europe and America have attracted new followers to the art form. An exclusive artist on the Warner Classics/Erato label, his most recent recording accompanied by friend and pianist Michał Biel entitled “Farewell” earned him the prestigious Opus Klassik award for Male Singer of the Year (2023). His new album “Beyond” has been released in October 2023 and will tour throughout the world this season with Il Pomo d’Oro. Jakub has a global fanbase with hundreds of thousands of social media followers and has worked as a model and influencer with international brands including Netflix, Louis Vuitton, Levi’s, Nike, BMW, Lacoste and MAC Cosmetics. He is also an accomplished breakdancer – prizes include fourth place fourth place at the Red Bull BC One Poland Cypher competition, and second place at both the Stylish Strike – Top Rock Contest and The Style Control competition. Few other opera singers can claim to have conquered the stages of the world’s greatest concert halls and the covers of Polish Vogue, Esquire, and Elle, but this is a testament to Jakub’s unique pop star appeal. His “ravishing” (The Guardian) live performances have sold out concert halls and opera houses all over the world. Previous season highlights include the European and American tour of his most recent album, “Beyond”, where he performed with Il Pomo d’Oro at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the BBC Proms, Opera Royal in Versailles, The Athens Epidaurus Festival and the Edinburgh International Festival. Jakub Józef Orliński returned to the operatic stage at the Theatre des Champs-Elysées, Paris, in Jean-Christophe Spinosi’s new production of L’Olimpiade by Vivaldi. He joined forces with pianist Michał Biel for exclusive recitals throughout Europe which will continue into the upcoming season at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg. In the upcoming 24/25 season, Orliński will continue to tour across Europe with Il Pomo d’Oro at Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival, Peterskirche Basel, Wigmore Hall in London, NTGent Schouwburg Ghent and Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. His new project #LetsBaRock with Aleksander Dębicz will also be premiered at Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and at Kammermusiksaal of the Berliner Philharmoniker in September 24. The new year will bring more touring with Il Pomo d’Oro in Asia and operatic performances performing the role of Ottone in Agrippina at Opernhaus Zurich and oratorio performances including Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and Handel’s Deborah in Utrecht, Paris, Vienna and Bayreuth. As an exclusive recording artist for Warner Classics/Erato, Jakub has earned critical acclaim for his recordings of undiscovered early music gems; his most recent recording, “Beyond”, was named one of The Times’ best classical albums of 2023. Jakub’s discography continues to expand to new horizons - in Spring, he releases a new recording of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, representing his directorial debut. His next album, due in the autumn of 2024, reimagines baroque music with pop instruments including drums and bass guitar.
