Nadine Sierra Soprano

Praised for her vocal beauty, seamless technique, and abundant musicality, Nadine Sierra is hailed as one of the most promising, young talents in opera today. She was named the Richard Tucker Award Winner in 2017 and was awarded the 2018 Beverly Sills Artist Award by the Metropolitan Opera. Having made a string of successful debuts at the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Paris Opera, and Staatsoper Berlin, she has become a fixture at many of the top houses around the world. In 2018, Deutsche Grammophon/Universal Music labels released her debut album, There’s a Place for Us, followed by a second album, Made For Opera, in 2022. Nadine's 24/25 season starts with her Wiener Staatsoper debut singing the lead in Romeo et Juliette followed by returning to Metropolitan Opera as Gilda In Rigoletto. She is excited to return to Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona numerous times next season as Violetta in La Traviata, Amina in La Sonnambula and Maria in West Side Story, under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel. She will also appear at Madrid's Teatro Real as Violetta, to Paris Opera as Manon and to Naples Teatro San Carlo as Juliette. Nadine's previous season highlights included her Royal Opera House debut as Adina in L'elisir d'amore, and then returning later in the year singing the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor, as well as joining the Royal Opera on a tour of Japan singing Gilda in Rigoletto, conducted by Maestro Antonio Pappano. Sierra also starred as Juliette in Roméo et Juliette at the Met, Violetta in La traviata at Paris Opera and debuted the role of Luisa Miller at Teatro di San Carlo. She appeared in concerts and recitals with with Berliner Philharmoniker under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel, Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia with Antonio Pappano. She also performed in recital at Palm Beach Opera, Teatro Real, Canergie Hall, Teatro di San Carlo, Festival Dortmund, Grand Théâtre de Genève and in Kansas City (Harriman-Jewell Series). She has also joined Andrea Bocelli in his 30th anniversary tour across Europe and North America and will be joining him again in Madison Square Garden, New York and at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida in December 2024. Other notable engagements from past seasons include the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor at Teatro La Fenice, Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Flavia (Eliogabalo), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and Norina (Don Pasquale) at Opéra National de Paris, Zerlina and Ilia (Idomeneo) at the Metropolitan Opera, Juliette, Lucia, Musetta, Pamina and Contessa at San Francisco Opera. In 2016, she and Leo Nucci made headlines after her house debut in Rigoletto at Teatro alla Scala when, on opening night, they were prompted by the audience to encore the duet, breaking a La Scala tradition dating back to Toscanini. Among many of her concert appearances ranging from Carnegie Hall, Arena di Verona, Musikverein in Vienna, Tanglewood and Ravinia music festivals, Dallas Opera, Park Avenue Armory in NYCm, the soprano also had the privilege and honor of performing twice at the U.S. Supreme Court for the Honorable Justices. Throughout Ms. Sierra’s young career, she has taken home several awards and is the youngest winner to date for both the Marilyn Horne Foundation Vocal Competition and the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, as recounted by Nick Romeo in his book Driven: Six Incredible Musical Journeys (2011), a chapter of which is devoted to Sierra’s Grand Finals triumph. She also took home first prizes in 2010 at the George London Competition, Gerda Lissner International Competition, and Loren Zachary Competition, and was a recipient of a Richard Tucker Music Foundation Study Grant. In 2013, she placed first at the Neue Stimmen, Caballé, and Veronica Dunne International Singing Competitions, and won a Richard Tucker Music Foundation Career Grant. Sierra fell in love with opera at a young age, after watching a VHS of La bohème, and began voice lessons at the age of six in her home state of Florida. Although she made her professional debut as a teenager with the Palm Beach Opera, she decided to continue studying, and received her bachelor’s degree from Mannes College the New School for Music. Following graduation, she went on to participate in the Adler Fellowship Program at the San Francisco Opera, forming a lasting relationship with the company. She has been featured in Vogue, Nylon, Bon Appetite, Opera News, on the cover of Classical Singer magazine, and numerous international TV and print media. She maintains an active presence on social media, where she interacts with her followers by answering messages, comments and questions on a daily basis.

Marine Chagnon Mezzo-soprano
French mezzo-soprano Marine Chagnon is a member of the Paris Opera where she has to date impressed in the title role of l’Enfant et les Sortilèges, as Tisbe in La Cenerentola, Dorothée in Cendrillon, Zerlina in Don Giovanni. In a Gala concert at Palais Garnier, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel and broadcast by Arte, she enchanted with her standout performance of Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti, showcasing her versatility across diverse musical eras. In the current season, Chagnon returns to the Paris stage as Cicinella in Offenbach’s Les Brigands in Barrie Kosky’s new production under Stefano Montanari, as Giovanna in Rigoletto under Domingo Hindoyan, Javotte in Manon under Pierre Dumoussaud and as Thibault in Don Carlos led by Simone Young. A nominée in the category “Révélation Lyrique” at the 2023 Victoires de la musique Classique, Marine Chagnon studied drama and modern-jazz dance alongside her vocal training and completed her master’s degree at the Paris Conservatoire before joining the the Opera Studio of Opéra National de Paris. She amassed considerable stage experience in her early years and first took to the stage as Euridice in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo at Opéra de Dijon. Adaptable to a wide range of musical styles, Chagnon has performed roles from early music through to contemporary works garnering regular praise: as Scarlatti’s La Giuditta, at Festival de la Grange au Lac with Les Accents, critics highlighted her "ardent and sensitive tone" (Bachtrack) and as Poppea in Montverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea with Le Poème Harmonique at both Athénée Théâtre and Grand Théâtre de Dijon, her portrayal was described as “sensually radiant, disarmingly refined."(Forum opera). Marine Chagnon’s expansive repertoire experience to date includes Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Lola (Cavalleria Rusticana), Annio (La Clemenza di Tito), L’Enfant, the Chinese Cup and the Cat (l’Enfant et les Sortilèges), Debussy’s Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande), Nancy (Albert Herring), Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Lucilla (La Scala di Seta), Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Flora (La Traviata), Offenbach’s La Périchole and Venus in Monteverdi’s rarity Il ballo delle ingrate. She has benefited from masterclasses with some of the opera world’s most revered artists, including Ludovic Tézier, Anne Sofie von Otter, Barbara Hannigan and Mireille Delunsch and has garnered numerous accolades, including the Young Performer’s Prize at the Concours International de Mâcon, the Special Jury Prize at the Concours International de Canari, and two distinctions at the Opéra National de Paris: the Prix de l’AROP and the Prix Dauphin du Verna from the Fondation de France. Showcasing her passion for rare and evocative repertoire, Marine Chagnon launched her discography with a critically acclaimed recording on the Mirare label, Ljus, a collection of 20th-century Swedish melodies recorded in collaboration with pianist Joséphine Ambroselli.

Michael Fabiano Tenor
Born in Montclair (New Jersey), this tenor of Italian descent attended the University of Michigan and the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. He was the recipient of the 2014 Beverly Sills Artist Award and the 2014 Richard Tucker Award, Mr. Fabiano is the first singer to win both awards in the same year. Of his important performances, he has sung Don José in Carmen at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence with direction by Dimitri Tcherniakov, the title role of Poliuto at the Glyndebourne Festival and his debut as Calaf in Turandot with direction by Ai Weiwei in Rome. He has also performed extensively at the Metropolitan Opera, the San Francisco Opera, the Teatro Real of Madrid, the Berlin Staatsoper, the Teatro Liceu, the Vienna Staatsoper, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Royal Opera House in London, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and the Paris Opera. Recently he was Calaf in Turandot and Des Grieuf in Massenet Manon at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona adn Vienna Staatsoper, ​​Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at the San Francisco Opera, Don Jose de Carmen at the Metropolitan Opera and the Vienna Stastsoper, and Rodolfo in Luisa Miller at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Riccardo in Un Ballo in maschera at San Francisco Opera, Manrico in Il Trovatore at Royal Opera House. Michal Biel Piano
Pianist and tutor Michał Biel graduated from the Juilliard School in New York, studying under the likes of Brian Zeger, Margo Garrett, Jonathan Feldman and J.J. Penna. He also studied with Eytan Pesen at the Opera Academy at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw, and Andrzej Jasiński and Grzegorz Biegas at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. Michał has performed in some the world’s most famous concert halls such as Wigmore Hall in London, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Berlin Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York, as well as recitals on the stages of the most prestigious opera theatres including Oper Frankfurt, Théâtre des ChampsElysées, Opéra National du Rhin, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Opera de Lille, El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia and the Grand Theatre - National Opera in Warsaw. He regularly collaborates with countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński, with whom he gives concerts all over the world, as well as taking part in prestigious festivals including Verbier Festival, Life Victoria Barcelona and Festival de Lacoste Pierre Cardin. Michał’s performances have been repeatedly broadcast by Medici.tv, Arte.tv, BBC Radio 3, TVP Kultura and Program 2 on Polish Radio. As an accompanist to American bass Alexander Rosen, Michał won 2nd prize at the International Hugo Wolf Song Competition in Stuttgart in 2018. Both artists are also laureates of the Orsay-Royaumont Academy, which culminated in the release of the album "Le Promenoir Des Amants". Michał’s competition achievements include an award for outstanding young pianist at the Stanisław Moniuszko International Vocal Competition in Warsaw, the title of best young accompanist at Le Grand Prix de l'Opéra in Bucharest and an award for outstanding accompaniment at the Ludomir Różycki National Vocal Competition in Gliwice. As a pianist-tutor, he has collaborated with vocalists at the Department of Vocal Arts at New York's Juilliard School, the Internationale Meistersinger Akademie in Neumarkt, and the Chautauqua School of Music in Chautauqua. He was also associated with the Department of Piano Chamber Music at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. Since 2020, Michał has been a lecturer at the Opera Academy operating at the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera in Warsaw, where he regularly conducts classes for vocalists and pianists. Michał has had success with his accompaniment on two albums that have been released. Farewells", recorded with Jakub Józef Orliński in Dolby Atmos technology, was nominated for the "Fryderyki" award in the Best Polish Album Abroad category.
